The RYA Powerboat Level 2 course is the most popular entry-level course for anyone wanting to get out on the water safely and confidently. Whether you’re new to boating or looking to formalise your skills with a recognised qualification, this two-day course is the perfect starting point.
You’ll learn essential boat handling skills both in the marina and out at sea, including:
✅ Launching and recovery
✅ Close-quarters handling
✅ Man overboard recovery
✅ High-speed manoeuvres
✅ Basic navigation and passage planning
✅ Rules of the road and essential safety procedures
On successful completion, you’ll be awarded the RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate, which is recognised worldwide and can be used to apply for the ICC (International Certificate of Competence) – often required for boating abroad.
