RYA Powerboat Level 1 – Start Power Boating

The RYA Powerboat Level 1 course is the perfect introduction for those new to boating and looking to build confidence on the water. Aimed at complete beginners, this one-day course provides a gentle and enjoyable start, covering the basics of powerboat handling in a safe and supportive environment. Ideal for juniors and adults alike, it focuses on practical boat handling, safety awareness, and becoming comfortable at the helm.
What You’ll Learn:
✅ Launching and recovering a boat (assisted)
✅ Basic controls and steering at low speed
✅ Simple manoeuvres and coming alongside
✅ Essential safety equipment and awareness
✅ Rope work and securing the boat
By the end of the course, students will have a fundamental understanding of how powerboats operate and the confidence to assist as crew or take the helm under supervision.
Course Duration: 1 Day
Minimum Age: 16+
No Experience Required
