5 Day Offshore Mile Builder Adventure

Take your sailing further with our 5 Day Mile Builder adventure from Weymouth. Designed for sailors looking to gain meaningful offshore experience and build confidence at sea, these trips focus on real passage making, night sailing, pilotage, and practical seamanship while logging valuable miles towards future RYA qualifications including Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Offshore.

What To Expect from your 5 day mile builder

This is real sailing experience — not a sightseeing cruise. From the moment we leave the berth, you become an active member of the crew, fully involved in every aspect of running the yacht.

Over the course of five days you will take part in real coastal and offshore passages, gaining valuable experience in navigation, pilotage, passage planning, watch keeping, and decision making at sea. You will experience both day and night sailing while learning how tides, weather systems, and changing conditions shape each passage.

Throughout the trip everyone onboard rotates through key onboard roles including helming, navigating, acting as lookout, and skippering the yacht under instructor guidance. This hands-on approach ensures maximum involvement and plenty of practical experience for every crew member.

Typical Itinerary for a 5 day mile builder

Every mile builder is shaped around the weather, tides, and sea conditions to create the best possible sailing experience while maintaining a strong focus on safety and learning. Depending on the conditions, passages may include destinations such as the Solent, Dartmouth, South Devon, the Channel Islands, Northern France, and other ports along the South Coast.

Rather than following a fixed route, each trip is designed to maximise quality sea time, offshore experience, and practical passage making opportunities.

Who Is A 5 day Mile Builder For?

Our 5 Day Mile Builder is designed for sailors looking to gain meaningful experience at sea while building confidence and sea miles. It is particularly well suited to those preparing for RYA Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster qualifications, newly qualified Day Skippers wanting to develop their skills further, or crew seeking offshore and night sailing experience.

It is also an excellent opportunity for sailors returning to the water after time away, or anyone wanting structured, practical experience in a supportive environment. Some previous sailing experience is recommended.

Why Choose Infinity Yachting?

At Infinity Yachting we focus on delivering genuine sailing experience in a professional but relaxed environment. With small crew numbers and an experienced instructor onboard, you will be actively involved throughout the trip rather than simply along for the ride.

Our well-equipped offshore yacht provides the ideal platform for developing real-world seamanship, and our flexible approach to weather and passage planning allows us to make the most of the conditions while always maintaining a strong commitment to safety.

You leave with far more than logged miles — you gain confidence, practical knowledge, sound decision-making skills, and valuable offshore experience that will stay with you long after the trip ends.
