Build Miles. Build Confidence. Expand Your Horizons.
Our 5-Day Adventure Sail & Mile Builder is designed for sailors who want to gain meaningful sea miles, real offshore experience, and skipper-level confidence — not just tick a box.
Operating from Portland Marina on the Jurassic Coast, each voyage is shaped by weather, tides, and ambition. No two trips are ever the same.
Whether you’re working towards RYA Day Skipper, Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster, or simply want to experience proper passage sailing, this is hands-on, real-world seamanship at its best.
What To Expect
This is not a “tourist cruise” — you are part of the crew from the moment we leave the berth.
Over five days you will:
-
Plan and execute real coastal and offshore passages
-
Stand watch on day and night passages
-
Navigate using traditional and electronic methods
-
Pilot into unfamiliar harbours
-
Manage tides, weather systems and passage planning
-
Experience watch systems and offshore routines
-
Develop leadership and decision-making skills
You will rotate through roles including helm, navigator, lookout and skipper under supervision — ensuring maximum development time for everyone onboard.
Typical Itinerary (Weather Dependent)
Possible destinations may include:
-
The Solent
-
Dartmouth or South Devon
-
